I was born and grew up in Trang and spent my childhood in Sawang Optical shop, which is the famous Hi-End eyeglasses shop owned by my father. Back at that time, my father was an expert in creating the best glasses for all customers from the wisdom blessed by our God. It is well-known to everyone that the glasses in this shop were very high standard and expensive but they understood that our prices come with quality. This was why we had a customer who moved to Chiangmai but still travelled down to Trang just to have his glasses designed and produced by my father.
My father was an intelligent guy. He didn’t give me and my sibling any daily snack allowance. In fact, his strategy was to encourage us to work for him in the shop and he paid us salary. My duties at that time were taking care of eyeglasses and customers such as serving water, clean the glasses. Apparently, I was familiar with working in the optical shop since then. Until one day, the incident belowled the change into my life.
Our customer who was a high rank government officer, whom I often saw in our shop, asked my father, “Mr. Sawang, the glasses that I bought from you are very comfortable. I can’t find anyone who can do this for me. That’s why I keep coming to your shop every time I want to have new glasses. This time, you know I have to travel from Chiangmai to Bangkok and then from Bangkok to Trang in order to find you. Actually, travelling isn’t a problem but supposing that you pass away, who will create such a great quality of glasses like you.” My father smiled and pointed at me then replied, “If I die, this boy, my son, will be the one who continues producing the best glasses for you
so no worries.” I was thrilled to hear that. That night, I dreamed of customers travelling from many countries queuing up to order their glasses with me because I could create the best glasses in the world. I retold my dream to my father the next morning. He grinning and replied, “Anything is possible, if you believe in yourself.” This quotestruck me and stirred me to pursue my determination to be expert optician who creates the best glasses in the world, although at the time I was only 7 years old. Since then, I have never lost my determination.
I dedicated over 10 years of my life in studying, researching and seeking for the knowledge from the optical practitioners and experts around the world. I have worked along with the lenses manufacture companies for technology development. Now, we successfully launch the new innovation in Hi-End The ISOPTIK Ultra Individual Digital 3 D Progressive lenses measurement to achieve clear vision at all distances and the wearers will adapt to the lenses fast with comfort. It is important to be confident in yourself and stop feeling discouraged and pessimistic. Be positive, be confident and chase up the dream. Although finding what you want to do or what you are good at is always difficult, I would suggest trying many different things to give you the opportunity to realize what you really enjoy or have passion in. The passion will drive you to do something better than the other people and keep improving and obsessing in it until you find that what you are doing is not work but it become your spirit.
Everyone can be successful. Dream big and never give up. Don’t listen to those who discourage you. I would like all parent to support their children’s dream too. I understand parent’s nature in wishing their children to have good career future but forget to think what their happiness is. To live happily, everyone needs to do what they love so parents’ role is to observe and support them.
I trust in the blessing from God and would like to pass forward to as many people as I can. If one person can get better life from the blessing that God gives to me, this would be the greatest merit that human can do to human. I would like to pass on the God’s blessing to all Thais to believe that everyone has their own ability. Be brave to start doing big and keep improving every day. One day you might wake up and find that you are one of the best in the world.
