How to take care of your eyes

- EAT LOTS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.CARROTS ARE LOADED WITH BETA CAROTENE THEY ARE SPECIALLY HELPUL IN MAINTAINING HEALTHY EYES.
- PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO UV RAYS CAN CAUSE HARMFUL EFFECTS IN YOUR EYES. WEAR SUNGLASSES WITH UV PROTECTION OR POLARIZED LENSES WHEN YOU’RE IN THE SUN. OVER EXPOSURE TO UV RAYS CAN INCREASE YOUR RISK OF CATARACTS, MACULAR DEGENERATION, PTERYGIA, LITTLE BUMPS ON THE WHITES OF YOUR EYES.
- WEAR PROTECTIVE GOGGLES OR EYEWEAR WHEN WORKING WITH CHEMICALS OR ANY PLACE WITH HARMFUL AIRBORNE PARTICULATES.
- FOR A CLEAN AND FRESH LOOKING EYES, GET ENOUGH SLEEP OF AT LEAST 7-8 HOURS A DAY.
- IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A PROPER LIGHTING WHEN YOU ARE READING.
- GET A THOROUGH EYE EXAM TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE SEEING CLEARLY. VISIT YOUR EYE DOCTOR.
- CHOOSE PROTECTIVE LENSES DESIGN FOR YOUR SPECIFIC SPORTS. FOR OUTDOOR SPORTS,POLARIZED LENSES HELP YOU SEE MORE CLEARLY.
- AIRPLANE CABIN IS VERY DRY, SO KEEPING YOUR EYES MOIST IS IMPORTANT. USE ARTIFICIAL TEARS ONCE EVERY HOUR, BUT AVOID DROPS THAT REDUCES RED EYE BECAUSE THEY CONSTRICT BLOOD VESSELS.
- IF YOU USUALLY SPEND LONG HOURS USING COMPUTERS, CHECK THE DISTANCE OF THE SCREEN OR YOUR WORK STATION. IDEALLY THE MONITOR SHOULD BE 5 TO 9 INCHES BELOW EYE LEVEL. THIS BRINGS YOUR LIDS DOWNWARD, MAINTAINING THE HEALTHIEST BLINK RATE.
- YOUR EYES ALSO HAVE MUSCLES, DO SOME EYE EXERCISES TO KEEP THEM HEALTHY. LOOK UP, DOWN, RIGHT AND LEFT. REPEAT AT TIMES.
